Some weddings feel beautiful because of the flowers.
Others feel beautiful because of the venue.
Juliette and Jeremy’s wedding was beautiful because every detail worked together to tell one cohesive story.
From the historic charm of Illges House to the elegant ballroom at Green Island Country Club, every design decision was intentional. The vision was classic, timeless, and sophisticated—never trendy, never overdone. Instead of chasing fleeting wedding trends, we focused on creating an experience that would feel just as elegant twenty years from now as it did on their wedding day.
As a Columbus, Georgia wedding planner, these are the weddings we love most. Weddings where thoughtful planning meets intentional design, allowing couples to be fully present while their guests experience something unforgettable.
One of the things we love most about planning weddings in Columbus, Georgia is the variety of venues that allow couples to create an entire wedding weekend experience.
For Juliette and Jeremy, that meant beginning the day surrounded by the historic beauty of Illges House before transitioning to an elegant reception at Green Island Country Club.
These two venues complemented each other perfectly.
Illges House offered timeless architecture, mature landscaping, and intimate charm for the ceremony, while Green Island Country Club provided the perfect backdrop for an elevated evening celebration complete with dinner, dancing, and stunning reception design.

When we began the design process, Juliette wanted something that felt:
Instead of overwhelming the spaces with color, we allowed texture and layering to become the stars of the design.
The color palette centered around:
These colors carried beautifully throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, creating a cohesive experience from beginning to end. Specialty linens in Celeste Denim and Camille Lake, rented from BBJ La Tavola introduced subtle pattern and color without distracting from the clean, classic aesthetic.
One of our favorite things about this palette is that it embraced color while still feeling timeless.

The ceremony took place on the beautiful grounds of Illges House, where guests were welcomed with rows of mahogany Chiavari chairs facing an elegant floral altar. A live cello player added another layer of sophistication, creating an atmosphere that felt peaceful and intimate from the moment guests arrived.
Rather than using a traditional floral arch, we designed a ceremony backdrop featuring white architectural columns topped with lush white urn arrangements overflowing with seasonal blooms. Additional floral columns framed the back of the guest seating, creating a balanced and luxurious look from every angle. These incredible blooms we created by Brooke Anderson Florals.
The result was a ceremony design that enhanced the historic character of Illges House without competing with it.
Sometimes the most impactful designs aren’t the biggest—they’re simply the most intentional.

One of the defining characteristics of this wedding was the use of all-white florals.
White roses, garden-inspired blooms, and lush greenery created a refined aesthetic that complemented every part of the day.
Juliette carried a larger, lush bridal bouquet while each bridesmaid carried a smaller bouquet featuring a single floral variety. Jeremy wore a modern all-white pocket boutonniere that perfectly complemented the timeless style of the day.
By limiting the color palette within the florals, every arrangement felt elevated, cohesive, and editorial.

Cocktail hour should never feel like guests are simply waiting for dinner.
It should feel like an experience all its own.
Inside and outside Green Island Country Club, we created multiple gathering spaces where guests could mingle comfortably.
The cocktail hour included:
Rather than filling the space with unnecessary décor, we focused on creating warmth through thoughtful furniture placement, florals, and intimate conversation areas.
These details encouraged guests to slow down, enjoy a drink, and truly experience the celebration.

When guests entered the reception ballroom at Green Island Country Club, they stepped into a space that felt warm, romantic, and timeless.
The design centered around several key focal points.
Perhaps our favorite design element was the stunning head table.
Draped in Celeste Denim specialty linen, the table featured cascading white florals flowing the length of the table, complemented by flickering candles inside glass chimneys and crystal votives.
The combination created incredible depth and dimension while allowing the newlyweds to remain the true focal point.

Instead of repeating the same centerpiece throughout the ballroom, we alternated designs to create visual interest.
Some guest tables featured:
Others showcased:
This variation allowed every table to feel unique while maintaining a cohesive overall design.

One detail often overlooked in wedding design is guest comfort.
Instead of expecting guests to remain at dinner tables throughout the evening, we incorporated elegant lounge seating around the dance floor.
Cream-colored sofas, accent chairs, monogrammed pillows, and coffee tables created intimate spaces where guests could relax between dances while still feeling connected to the celebration.
These areas quickly became some of the most popular gathering spots throughout the evening.

Every couple has a different vision.
Some dream of bold color.
Others envision modern minimalism.
Juliette and Jeremy reminded us that timeless elegance never goes out of style.
By focusing on quality over quantity, intentional layering over excess, and classic design instead of fleeting trends, we were able to create a wedding that felt effortless while remaining incredibly sophisticated.
